Hawk in the tree

December 4, 2012

I finished the previous post and went upstairs, and as I was going about my business, I glanced out a back window, and saw something in the neighbors’ large tree behind my yard.  I got my glasses and regrouped, and there it was, a Red-tailed Hawk.

Big, robust, plump in the chest — reddish-brown on the head, it seemed, too.

I happen to be in the midst of using a disposable camera, so I went to get it and I took a few pictures, even going outside to get closer.  I knew the hawk would leave the sooner for my doing so, and it did, although I tried to take a picture of its exit flight, too.

Magnificent.

It meant a lot to me, seeing this bird in this way this morning.
